This interior installation was a renovation to the existing public space. The program consisted of providing sound absorption within the public eating space, organizing the space for a better circulation layout and connecting the entry area with the main dining area. In addition, the construction had to be done in phases during off hours. This was accomplished by working the project as a design build with Nano. The color palette and materials were a combination of Rio Mar’s signature colors and the use of rehabilitated materials from within the region. The lighting was informed by working with the low existing ceiling and height and controlling eye movement throughout the space creating the illusion of a multi height space.
